You can find delicious recipes at www.oetker.de. 2. fruit: Adding about 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to 1 kg of fruit gives fruit a mild, balanced flavour, as baking soda binds excess acid, e.g. for currants and gooseberries. 3. vegetables: By adding 1 teaspoon of baking soda to 1 litre of cooking water, the hard-fibred parts of plants are broken down and softened more quickly, e.g. pulses and cabbage. 4. coffee and tea: Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda to coffee or tea water for soft water in which the coffee and tea flavour can fully develop.

What is this product?
Natron is the German word for baking soda, a sodium bicarbonate powder used to raise muffins and biscuits, soften fruit acidity and help pulses or cabbage cook more quickly. Each 5g sachet holds about one teaspoon. For fruit, add roughly half a teaspoon per 1kg; for vegetables, add one teaspoon per litre of cooking water. It also works in water for coffee or tea, where it softens the water so the drink's flavour develops fully.
