What is this product?
Vanillinzucker is the German equivalent of vanilla sugar, fine sugar carrying vanilla aroma, added to batter, creams and hot drinks by the sachet rather than the spoon. That is why German recipes simply say 'one packet': each 8g dose is measured, which takes the guesswork out of a sponge or a custard. Ten sachets per pack, enough for a season of baking. Dr. Oetker prints the dosing on the label: one sachet per 500g flour or 500ml milk.

It's not overwhelmingly sweet!

I have been trying to find something to help balance out the flavours of my cakes and this is great! I don't know if I've just been putting too much of everything in general, but I found that if I use Vanilla Extract and sugar it becomes TOO sweet. With this, you might need to add a little more vanilla, but the sweetness of the sugar is fantastic. I highly recommend. I only wish they didn't come in small packets and could get a large jar instead
