What is this product?
Weiss Pfeffernüsse are small domed spiced gingerbread bites under a white sugar glaze, the German equivalent of a soft spiced biscuit, perfect for serving in a bowl with coffee or mulled wine. The name means pepper nuts, though the recipe carries cinnamon and mixed Lebkuchen spices rather than nuts, and the dough stays soft for weeks. Each bite is about the size of a walnut, so a 200 g pack fills a small dish for the Advent table or a bunter Teller. Lebkuchen Weiss has baked in Neu-Ulm since 1925 and Pfeffernüsse are among the first Christmas biscuits to reach German supermarket shelves each September. The recipe contains pork gelatine, so it is not suitable for vegetarians.
