What is this product?
Bahlsen Butter Spekulatius are thin, crisp spiced biscuits with 22% butter, the German equivalent of Dutch speculoos, and they go with coffee, tea or a glass of milk on a winter afternoon. Each biscuit is pressed with a traditional windmill or figure motif, the way Spekulatius has looked on German Advent tables for generations. Cinnamon, lemon peel and a mix of warming spices sit on top of a buttery, sandy crumb that snaps cleanly. Bahlsen bakes them in Hannover, the same bakery known in the UK for Leibniz and Choco Leibniz. The 200 g pack holds enough for a few coffee breaks or one well stocked bunter Teller.
