What is this product?

Westfälisches Vollkornbrot is the German equivalent of a dense wholemeal rye loaf, sliced thin and eaten with cheese, cold cuts or simply good butter. Mestemacher has baked it in Westphalia to the same recipe since 1871, from coarse wholemeal rye with nothing but water, salt and yeast. It is naturally high in fibre at 9.6g per 100g, vegan, and keeps in the cupboard without refrigeration until opened. Every 500g pack is ready to eat.
