What is this product?

Kürbiskernbrot is the German equivalent of a dense wholemeal rye loaf through which pumpkin seeds have been worked, sliced thin and eaten with cheese, cold cuts or good butter. Mestemacher mills the rye fresh in its own mill in Gütersloh, and the 5 per cent pumpkin seeds give a green, faintly buttery note against the sour rye. It is vegan, high in fibre at 8.7g per 100g, and keeps in the cupboard without refrigeration until opened. Every 500g pack is ready to eat.
