What is this product?

Gourmet Pumpernickel is the German equivalent of a thin dark rye cracker bread, sliced small and served with cheese, smoked salmon or a dab of horseradish. Mestemacher cuts this one into roughly 28 thin rounds rather than the usual square slices, which is what makes it the canapé version of the loaf. The long steam bake of up to 20 hours gives it the near black colour and the sweeter finish. No preservatives. Every 250 g pack is ready to eat.
