Weber began in 1952, when George Stephen Sr., a metalworker at Weber Brothers Metal Works near Chicago, cut a marine buoy in half and created the world's first kettle grill. That dome-shaped design solved the problem of wind, ash and uneven heat — and turned Weber into the most recognised name in barbecue worldwide.

Beyond grills, Weber runs its Grill Academy across Europe, where grill masters develop and select recipes that carry the brand's name. Weber's range of BBQ sauces and ketchups is produced under licence by Hela Gewürzwerk Hermann Laue GmbH in Ahrensburg, Germany — a spice specialist with over a century of condiment expertise.
