Kinkartz

Kinkartz began in 1872 when master baker Wilhelm Kinkartz opened his own bakery in the Aachen area. At the start of the twentieth century the bakery was expanded into a factory and moved to industrial production of baked goods.

The brand specialises in the Aachen and Christmas classics: Aachener Printen, Dominosteine and Lebkuchen hearts. Aachener Printen is a protected name, so only bakeries in and around Aachen may use it, and Kinkartz is one of the traditional houses behind it.

Since 1999 the Wilhelm Kinkartz GmbH & Co. KG has been part of the Lambertz group, the Aachen Printen house with roots back to 1688, which took over the Kinkartz bakery business from the Schöller holding.
